Buyers
The Basics
1. How does this work?
Sellers bring their books to the book exchange. They choose the price of each of their books, which are then put up for sale. A small handling fee is added to the price of each book to cover the costs of running the exchange. Buyers then come to the book exchange to buy books. When the enchange is over, sellers come to the book exchange to pick up their money and leftover books.
2. How do I buy or sell books?
You can buy or sell books from August 25 to September 10 at:

3. How does the handling fee work?
Let's say you choose to sell a book for 50 dollars. An 11.00% handling fee is added to the price of the book, to make it 56 dollars. The book is then sold for 56 dollars. The book exchange will keep 6 dollars, and give you 50 dollars. So, the price you choose is how much money you get if your book is sold.
Sellers
1. Can I change the price of one of my books?
Yes! Simply email dawson@ube.ca with the new price.
2. Can you correct my personal or book information?
Yes! Email dawson@ube.ca with the correct information.
3. Do you take course packs or lab manuals?
We accept all study guides, but because course packs or lab manuals change every year they are unlikely to sell and we cannot accept them.
4. I lost my contract! What do I do?
If you gave us your email address, you can just print another contract. If not, don't worry – if you want another copy, just drop by the book exchange. The contract only exists so that the book exchange can collect its fees, but it's also handy for you because it contains everything you need to know.
5. Why can't I find books with my prices on the web site?
The prices on the web site include an 11.00% handling fee. So, if you are selling a book for 50 dollars, the price on the web site will be 56 dollars.
Reclaims
1. I can't make it before the reclaim deadline! What can I do?
Find a friend or relative who can make it before the reclaim deadline, and give them any of your picture ID (like Medicare, Driver's License, Dawson ID, etc.). They won't be able to make reclamations without it.
2. What happens if I miss the reclaim deadline?
The book exchange doesn't have the resources to stay open past September 17, so please pick up your books and money before then. If you can't, please email dawson@ube.ca explaining your situation.
3. When can I pick up my books and money?
You can reclaim books and money from September 13 to September 17 at:

You must present picture ID and pay a $1.00 service fee to make reclamations. Any picture ID will do: Medicare, Driver's License, Dawson ID, etc.
4. Can I pick up my books and money earlier?
Yes, but you must pay a $5.00 penalty for each reclamation made before September 13.
Buyers
1. Can I pay with Interac/Visa/MasterCard?
We accept cash only.
2. Can you put a book aside for me?
Unfortunately, we can't. Our goal is to sell books for other people, so we will always sell a book to the first buyer. We encourage you to check that the book you want is in-stock from a computer near the book exchange before lining up.
